WelcomeWelcome to the website for the Delta Sigma chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta at Ball State University. Please choose a link at the left to learn more about Theta.
A Letter From Our President The Delta Sigma chapter is off to a great start this semester! Already we have welcomed a new class of members and they are well into their new member modules. The executive board is hard at work planning several events in many offices. The membership focus group has been busy brainstorming and planning fun COB events which will happen again in late February. The Public Relations focus group is devoting their time to arranging Theta Thursdays, events devoted to develop sisterhood and promote Theta on campus. So far game nights and socials in the house with fraternities are in the works. Also this semester we have started the initial stages for a brand new philanthropy event! A theta chill out relay event is in the early stages of development. And with the success of the first grill off this past fall, work is being done to prepare for that event again, this time earlier with hopes of an even bigger turn out. The development focus group has been planning a spontaneous dance, and moms day which will be a pot luck luncheon this year in the house with donations made by sisters and their moms with the recipes to be compiled in a Theta cookbook. And of course a formal dance is also in the early stages of planning. And the education focus group has been busy teaching the baby kites about the ways of Theta, as well as putting together a scholarship newsletter and scholarship programming. By far the biggest change this semester has been the move into the new house! A dedication ceremony was held in late January with members of the greek community, the office of student life, and President JoAn Gora in attendance. The house has brought chapter morale up and brought sisters together in a way that was not possible with the suite. Four girls currently live in the facility and they say other sisters are in the house all the time just to hang out and say hi. Its also been a great advantage for meeting space and hosting events. We hope that it will prove to be an asset with up coming recruitment events. As
always, we highly encourage alumnae participation in our chapter and
always enjoy having visitors! Theta love, Denise Brunton President Kappa Alpha Theta – Delta Sigma
